While Empire 2 Total War might not yet match the stature of mods like Darthmod, Imperial Splendour or Pirates Uber Alles, this latest version modernises the game in so many ways while innovating.
So my last 2 campaigns were vanilla Empire and still enjoyed it though I missed all the smoke and different gunsounds from Darthmod. It's a shame that Napoleon TW is suck a lackluster game in comparison to Empire when it comes to the campaign map. The battles in it are far better though.

I actually would suggest foothold in india mod. Its like darthmod in the sense that its not trying to be an entirely different game. its very customisable with many different options for things like battle ai, campaign mechanics, new units, ui and graphic improvements, fort options, bug fixes and so on.
